History

Our previous History topics have been 'The Great Fire of London' and 'The Gunpowder Plot.'

This half-term our topic is 'Farming in the past', with a focus on Jethro Tull and the agricultural revolution.

Today we talked about what Remembrance Day is. We learnt that it is on the 11th of November each year and that on this day, we think about all the soldiers that fought in the war to protect us.
Today, at 11 o’clock, we held a two-minute silence to show our respect. We thought about all of those people who fought to save us.
We learnt that poppies are flowers that help people to remember those who were injured or died in the war.

‘At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.’

Our previous topic in history was 'The Great Fire of London.' We really enjoyed learning about the events of the great fire, why it spread so quickly and about the famous eyewitness to the event, 'Samuel Pepys.'
