Slider Mechanisms

We were introduced to our new DT topic of ‘Sliding mechanisms’ today.
We made a slot in a piece of card and then drew a flower and coloured it in. When we had cut it out, we stuck it to the top of a green strip of card which is called ‘the rod’. We slotted the rod through the slot that we had made earlier and then attached a ‘guide bridge’ to the back with a sellotape. This extra piece of card helped the rod to move in the right direction and provided some stability.
